Temptation

It's an apple, a little bruised in places, but still crisp and sweet.
It's only a piece of fruit, an indulgence, a pleasure.
Self-sickness seem so appealing, trivial.
Why then afterward do we wonder why we didn't see the edges, the stomachache, coming?
or that it would bring Him so much pain as well?
