Lev. 11-27 I am so thankful for God the perfect sacrifice for our sin, our many uncleannesses, impurities, blasphemies. These chapters are such a reminder of how ugly our sin is in God's sight and that the penalty for it is death, but Christ, praise God, paid that penalty.
The year of Jubilee tradition in which properties return to their original owners and certain slaves regain their freedom reminds me that all that we have is ultimately not ours. It is God's. We only have it temporarily.
Because of Christ's work, we have so much to be grateful for. Let's not lose sight of the ugliness of our sin, striving with God's help to turn from it. Let's also be overcome by true deep gratefulness to God for His gift of forgiveness. And let's use our resources for Him, as after all, they are His.
