Finite meet Infinite

Hannah wants a child. God gives her Samuel. Israel wants a king. God gives her Saul. Saul wants a deliverer from the giant Goliath. God sends David.
The child Samuel doesn't live with his mother. The king Saul fails to be truthful and faithful and is a disappointment. The boy David defeats Goliath but also takes Saul's kingdom from him.
God does things His way, then and now. We must recognize that truth when we petition Him. He hears, He answers, and often, in that answer, is something very unexpected yet never contrary to who He is. Finite meet infinite.
