Today's Christian Teen-aged Girl

From Blah to Awe by Jenna Bishop is a quick, easy read, that is appropriately geared to teen girls, definitely not preteens and not more mature adults, I'd say. I would be careful not to pass it off to someone too young as some of these stories deal with disturbing subjects.
I liked the stories of missions trips and women from other cultures and the great re-tellings of Bible stories. These reminded me of her father's storytelling gift. I appreciated the appeal to life-changing faith that really transforms who you are, a passion for God revealed in a real relationship with him, cleaning up the inside not merely the outside of the bowl and being a 24/7, not merely a Sunday Christian.
I'm not sure about writing in a book like this (she has many places for girls to write in the book), though it does make you think more. It's probably a good element, but it does make it more difficult to pass a book on.
This book has many good challenges for teen girls from a modern, current perspective though I'd perhaps be in the market for more of a classical approach myself (and anyway, I'm not a teen). I received this book from Book Sneeze in order to review it.
